Nahrstadt and Whalen Settle Wrongful Death Suit Involving an 18 Year Old for Nominal Sum
August 14, 2014Brad Nahrstadt and James Whalen have settled a wrongful death lawsuit involving novel theories of liability for $10,000. The plaintiff filed the wrongful death lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Cook County against the firm's client, a live entertainment venue. In the suit, the plaintiff alleged that the venue and its employees negligently caused fatal injuries to an 18 year old patron as she was leaving a concert that she had attended at the venue. The plaintiff alleged that the venue, and its security personnel, had a duty to send the decedent in a safe direction as she was leaving the concert venue.
