Murphy Presents at Seminar on Illinois Concealed Carry Statute

On October 30, 2014, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Illinois Insurance Association, the Illinois Retail Merchants Association and the Illinois Manufacturers Association jointly sponsored a half-day seminar covering the ins and outs of the new Illinois concealed carry law.  The seminar provided an overview of the rights and responsibilities of individuals, employers, governmental entities and property owners.  There was also a discussion of the insurance coverage considerations each group should take into account when dealing with concealed carry issues. 
 
Edward J. Murphy, a seasoned defense attorney and former Chicago police officer, presented on the topic of individual rights and responsibilities.  Murphy provided insight and practical guidance on where, when and how individuals can carry concealed weapons, as well as many other issues relating to the use of force and self-defense laws in Illinois.
