JohnFranco G. Joyce

Mr. Joyce is a Senior Associate who focuses his practice on the defense of commercial, insurance coverage, construction, premises liability, product liability, and transportation claims. 

As a Senior Associate Attorney with Lipe Lyons, Mr. Joyce has represented clients in state and federal courts in cases involving a wide range of issues including business and commercial disputes, property damage, breach of contract and restrictive covenants, legal malpractice and trade secret claims. Mr. Joyce has also represented clients in personal injury cases arising out of transportation, construction, and product-related accidents. In addition, he has handled numerous first party insurance coverage cases on behalf of insurer clients, including defending clients in declaratory judgment actions and statutory bad faith claims. 

Since joining Lipe Lyons, Mr. Joyce has successfully defended clients in all stages of litigation, including winning several dispositive motions and successfully resolving numerous cases through mediation and arbitration. He also has significant experience working on complex trials and trial preparation and has also successfully resolved numerous cases through pretrial settlement conferences. Mr. Joyce has second chair trial experience, including cases with demands and exposure in excess of $35,000,000.00.  

Prior to joining Lipe Lyons, Mr. Joyce worked as an attorney at a Chicago law firm where he gained experience in civil and commercial litigation. Additionally, Mr. Joyce defended matters alleged against small businesses, including actions for breach of contract and fraud, in both state and federal court. He also assisted in the representation and defense of elected state officials in disputes arising under the Illinois Election Code, with matters ranging from signature and nomination petition challenges, recounts, and contested election results. 

In addition to providing clients with excellent legal services, Mr. Joyce serves as a board member on the Lipe Lyons Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. He also serves as a member of the firm’s Social Committee and has made significant contributions to help maintain a positive and consistent firm culture that encourages and nurtures collaboration and social connections between colleagues.
